None of us at FilePlanet expected Minecraft to be so successful, let alone its modding popularity. From the tale of JohnSmith to the incredibly realistic LB Photo Pack, these are the texture mods we decided were great, but you guys proved were awesome.
JohnSmith Texture Pack by JohnSmith: This texture pack has grown and become one of the most popular mods not just on FilePlanet but throughout the whole Minecraft community. Featuring custom textures and a new GUI, this pack is a visual treat to the eyes. Please JohnSmith, if you can hear us – contact us! We’d love to lower your bandwidth costs.
MajorCraft Texture Pack by NMajor: Increasing the textures to 64×64 and giving the blocks a less distinguished appearance, this pack has been our recent favorite. We were never fans of Cobblestone’s textures so when we heard this alters it to look like Marble, we were all over it.
Portal Texture Pack by carlotta4th: Now you can have your cake and eat it too as long as GLaDOS doesn’t find out. We’ve spotlighted this during the time of the Portal 2 pre-launch ARG along with other interesting finds and in our opinion, it’s one of the more well-done texture packs out there.
Brocklehurst’s Faithful Hi-Res Texture Pack by Brocklehurst: This texture pack remains faithful to the art style of Minecraft (see what I did there?) by simply upgrading the original textures in the game. Great for purists who like Minecraft’s simplistic art style but still yearn for better visuals.
LB Photo Realism 256×256 Pack by Scuttles: With an art style similar to that of Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, this provides the most realistic Minecraft experience you can achieve without going out to the nearest forest and trying to knock a tree down by punching it (very painful by the way).
