Share The Slice: Portal 2 Co-Op Maps

Thanks to the spectacular modding community, the longevity of Portal 2 keeps increasing even though there’s no release date for the first piece of official DLC. We recently covered new single player test chambers to expand your experience, and since then some great co-op maps have been released. Here are some for your enjoyment – let’s keep the hugging and high-fiving to a minimum, shall we?

Atlas Reloaded Co-Op Map by Kildet: This test chamber may be in a small space, but there’s plenty of objectives that you and your partner must complete. Find a way to get the weighted cube to drop and disable the Emancipation Grid before the cube passes through. A vaporized Weighted Storage Cube just doesn’t seem to work as well as one that is still intact.

Secleratus Co-Op Map by Demise: Ready yourself for a lot of hopping and falling in this large map spanning over four rooms. GLaDOS’ voice will keep you company as you try and get from one room to the next in this beautifully designed map. Simultaneously press the correct buttons with your partner while also trying to change the location of your portals to proceed onward. The key here is pure cooperation, and only the best teams will make it out of this test chamber alive.

The Rock of Prometheus Co-Op Map by Magicrat: Prepare to find yourself in one of the most unique Portal 2 co-op maps out there. You can only shoot your portals in specific spots as most of this chamber is made out of solid rock and moving panels. This test chamber relies heavily on the angling and placement of lasers, so be precise and don’t burn your friend. With enough teamwork, you’ll make it to the end alive.

JumpingJack Co-Op Map by Basteh: Hopefully you’re not afraid of heights or death, as you will experience both in this tricky map. Carefully place your portals to extend the light bridge and utilize the Repulsion Gel to bounce to the other side – just don’t fall into the water. This map is so well designed and challenging, there’s a chance that Aperture Science will run out of replacement test bots before you’re able to finish.
