Elder Scrolls V has announced a new engine and all of us at FilePlanet are excited. One thing that hasn’t aged well with Bethesda games is the visuals that it uses. Fallout: New Vegas is a lot of fun but the dated landscape textures and creatures are a bit disheartening. FilePlanet does not like having it’s heart broken, so we searched for ways to make this old engine look pretty again.
Detailed Normals – Texture Pack by RegentEagle: This modification has accomplished the impossible with it’s visual upgrade. It fleshes out the landscape of the Wasteland and makes it visually stunning for how old the engine is. The kicker is that it doesn’t affect your performance at all.
Enhanced Blood Texture Textures by dDefinder: Let’s be honest with ourselves – every once in a while that little voice in our head gets the best of us and we go on a rapid killing spree on The Strip. This modification makes the blood textures look more detailed and adds much more blood to go around.
Western Sky – Weather and Atmosphere by Jeremy Hamilton: The Mojave Wasteland sky is a dull and most definitely orange one that grinds my gears considering it looks nothing like it would in the real world. Western Sky solves that by adding a custom skydome and adjusting exterior lighting.
Creature Retexture Mod by fLokii: This modification does what its name says. It redesigns some of the creatures textures to look more detailed and far more menacing. I had a hard time putting this cazador picture in as I feared it would actually come out of my screen.
